As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local farmers and advancing sustainable agriculture, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Salman Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Food Diversity Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, visited the 10th edition of Al Dhaid Dates Festival, organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The visit reflects the Ministry’s continued efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector, empower local farmers and promote practices that enhance food security while preserving the UAE’s rich agricultural heritage.

زار سعادة محمد سعيد النعيمي، وكيل وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة، مهرجان دبي للرطب 2026، ضمن جولة تفقدية لأبرز مهرجانات الرطب والتمور في الدولة، تأكيدًا على حرص الوزارة على دعم المزارعين المواطنين وتعزيز استدامة القطاع الزراعي.
وخلال الجولة، اطّلع سعادته على أصناف الرطب المعروضة في المهرجان، واستمع إلى آراء ومقترحات المزارعين، بما يعكس اهتمام الوزارة بالتواصل المباشر معهم والاطلاع على تطلعاتهم واحتياجاتهم.

H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, visited the Dubai Dates Festival 2026 as part of a tour of key date festivals across the UAE, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to supporting Emirati farmers and enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector.

During the visit, His Excellency explored the varieties of dates showcased at the festival and listened to farmers’ insights and suggestions, reflecting the Ministry’s efforts to maintain direct engagement with them and understand their aspirations and needs.

بمشاركة معالي الدكتور سلطان النيادي، وزير الدولة لشؤون الشباب، ومعالي اللواء فارس خلف المزروعي، رئيس هيئة أبوظبي للتراث، شاركت سعادة المهندسة أمل عبدالرحيم، وكيل الوزارة المساعد لقطاع الخدمات المساندة، في الحلقة الشبابية "شباب يصنعون الاستدامة.. من إرث النخلة إلى فرص الاستدامة"، ضمن مهرجان ليوا للرطب 2026،.
وسلّطت الحلقة الضوء على أهمية تمكين الشباب كشركاء في صون الإرث الزراعي، وتعزيز الهوية الوطنية، من خلال بناء شراكات فاعلة بين الشباب والجهات الوطنية تسهم في تطوير المنتج المحلي، وترسيخ الأمن الغذائي، وتحويل الإرث الزراعي إلى ركيزة لمستقبل أكثر استدامة.

In the presence of H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and H.E. Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, H.E. Eng. Amal Abdulrahim, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, participated in the youth circle titled “Youth Driving Sustainability: From the Legacy of the Date Palm to Sustainable Opportunities,” during the Liwa Dates Festival 2026.

The session highlighted the importance of empowering young people to take part in preserving the UAE’s agricultural heritage and strengthening the national identity through meaningful collaboration between youth and national entities. These partnerships contribute to advancing local products, reinforcing food security and leveraging our agricultural heritage to build a more sustainable future.

انطلاقًا من حرصنا المتواصل على دعم المزارعين المواطنين، وتعزيز مكانة التمور الإماراتية باعتبارها جزءًا أصيلًا من تراثنا وهويتنا، زار سعادة محمد سعيد النعيمي، وكيل وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة، مهرجان ليوا للرطب 2026، المُقام تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان، نائب رئيس الدولة، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء، رئيس ديوان الرئاسة.

وخلال الزيارة، قام سعادته بجولة في أرجاء المهرجان، اطّلع خلالها على أجنحة العارضين وما تضمه من أجود أصناف التمور والرطب الإماراتية، إلى جانب المنتجات المحلية والفعاليات المصاحبة التي تحتفي بإرث النخلة ومكانتها في التراث الزراعي الإماراتي.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local farmers and strengthening the role of Emirati dates as an integral part of our heritage and national identity, H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, visited the Liwa Dates Festival 2026, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

During the visit, His Excellency toured exhibitors’ pavilions, exploring the finest Emirati dates, alongside a variety of local products and activities celebrating date palms and their enduring place in the UAE’s agricultural heritage.

The 2027 cycle of the Zayed Sustainability Prize received 10,233 submissions from 177 countries, marking a 32% increase from last year.

The record number of entries reflects the growing commitment of innovators worldwide to developing community-centered solutions that improve lives and advance sustainable development.

We look forward to the review process in August.

سجلت دورة عام 2027 من جائزة زايد للاستدامة رقمًا قياسيًا باستقطاب 10,233 طلب مشاركة من 177 دولة، بزيادة بلغت 32% مقارنة بالدورة السابقة.

ويعكس هذا الإقبال العالمي إلتزام المبتكرين ورواد الحلول المستدامة بتطوير مبادرات تتمحور حول احتياجات المجتمعات، وتسهم في تحسين جودة الحياة ودفع عجلة التنمية المستدامة.

نتطلع إلى انطلاق مرحلة التقييم خلال شهر أغسطس.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is set to launch the third edition of the Mustadeem Program next month, with the aim to empower and upskill the youth.

The program offers interactive educational and training platforms that equip young minds with the knowledge and skills needed to understand environmental challenges and develop innovative, sustainable solutions.

In collaboration with the University of Khorfakkan, the Sharjah Marine Science Research Centre and the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock, this year's edition features two key tracks, Marine Environment and Livestock & Food Processing.

تستعد وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة لإطلاق النسخة الثالثة من برنامج "مستديم"، الشهر المقبل، بهدف تعزيز قدرات الشباب وتنمية مهاراتهم، من خلال منصات تعليمية وتدريبية تفاعلية تزودهم بالمعرفة والمهارات اللازمة لفهم التحديات البيئية وتطوير حلول مبتكرة ومستدامة لها.
