Congratulations to Erik Veenstra, our team member of the month!
Erik, senior maintenance worker at Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park, is always troubleshooting campground electrics, plowing snow, fixing toilets, repairing water line breaks, or mentoring team members.
If you think hiking a 3-mile loop in this heat sounds tough, try doing it in full duty gear! Our rangers are practicing what they preach: SIP. WATER. CONSTANTLY.
Keep hydrated, know your limits, and remember, it’s far too hot for high-speed foot pursuits through the woods.
Make your voice heard! Watch the public meeting videos online and make comments or suggestions. Visit https://t.co/uDsY2T4kyB to see the list of parks for this month.
Congrats to Nick Love, superintendent at Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park, our team member of the month! While operating the trail solo due to staffing shortages, Nick's enthusiasm, work ethic and customer service never wavered.

DYK Gov. Daniel Dunklin was a trailblazer? In the 1830s, he championed Missouri's public schools, envisioned its university, and fought for humane prison reform.
Plan your trip to his grave in Herculaneum at https://t.co/iTREnQh6FU, where there will soon be a new ADA walkway!
Happy #NationalBisonMonth! You don't have to travel out west to see them - plan a trip to Prairie State Park in Mindenmines. Remember, despite their "fluffy cow" nicknames, these are still wild animals and use caution when around them. Plan your trip at https://t.co/Hzc19eVYfL.
