Participated in the National Departmental Summit on Water chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji in New Delhi.
The Summit reaffirmed the spirit of Team India and cooperative federalism in addressing India’s water challenges through collective action, innovation and people’s participation.
For Odisha, with agriculture at the heart of our economy, strengthening water security and irrigation remains a key priority. We are accelerating irrigation infrastructure, promoting water conservation and groundwater recharge, strengthening Pani Panchayats and embracing technology for efficient water management.
Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Jan Bhagidari, we remain committed to building a water-secure and Samruddha Odisha.

This is what a change in governance means for Odisha’s farmers.
From closed mills and uncertain markets to greater cultivation, stronger local processing and better income opportunities, we are rebuilding the foundations of the rural economy.
The past was marked by delay. Our approach is defined by decisive action and delivery.
For over a decade, Nayagada’s sugar industry was allowed to decline, while its farmers were left to bear the consequences.
The sugar mill, closed in 2014, remained defunct for more than ten years. More than 12,000 sugarcane farmers lost an assured market, even as repeated demands for its revival continued.
Years of neglect turned a functioning agricultural ecosystem into a long-pending problem. Farmers waited. The previous government did not act.
Our vision is not limited to bringing a mill back. We are building the ecosystem that will make sugarcane farming more productive and sustainable.
From irrigation to markets, we are addressing the gaps that were left unattended for years.

Heartiest congratulations to 4-year-old Elena Mishra of Odisha on creating history as the youngest female player to hold an official FIDE rating.
At an age when most children are taking their first steps into learning, Elena has already made her mark on the world of chess. Her achievement is a proud reflection of exceptional talent, dedication and determination.
May Elena’s remarkable journey inspire many more young minds across Odisha to dream big, pursue their passion and achieve excellence. My best wishes to Elena and her family for many more milestones ahead.
