This update would appear to be incompatible with trans people’s rights under the ECHR, given the attempt to force trans people into spaces inappropriate for them. That appears to me to be a potential breach of Articles 3, 8 and 14 of the Convention.
We have shared an interim update on the practical implications of the Supreme Court’s judgment in For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers: https://t.co/NgyutUBn0F
@Martina You haven’t read the judgment, then? Nothing to say about the failures of judgment of Ms Lapworth and Dr Ahmed and the unpleasant targeting of Sussex Uni?
@DrPamGosal Sandie Peggie was shown by the evidence to be an unpleasant racist with a penchant for vile jokes about pakistans who then waited to ambush a trans person who was following a course of conduct agreed by her employer. Not recognising these facts makes your position untenable.
@ClaireCoutinho Those aren’t the facts as the court found them. To keep repeating nonsense and not recognising the diabolical bias shown by Ms Lapworth and Dr Ahmed doesn’t help your cause.
@yoni_mitchel@RBoosta10861@sharrond62 100% of trans people in prison have committed some offence or another, just like 100% of white people in prison or 100% of those of Italian extraction (my major ethnicity). None of that justifies blanket action towards white people, people of Italian extraction or trans people.
@RBoosta10861@sharrond62 So, given the government estimate of 200,000 to 500,000 trans people in the U.K. and assuming a 50/50 split between trans men and women that would be between 0.1% and 0.05% of trans men in the U.K. Not 62%.
@annMcdo17856479@JamieWhistle@moniquephotos Oh dear, another bot. Recognising that trans people exist and are entitled to make choices about how we live is just recognising our biological reality/science. How does that affect you in any way?
@KateBMwriting You asserted that I was ‘ordered out’. When was I ‘ordered’ out? By whom and on which occasion? Would you care to withdraw your remarks?
And yes, the effect of the Swift judgment is that it is in no way unlawful for a trans person to use gender-appropriate facilities.
