MIB International and RIPD are the same film made ten years apart. Great cast. Fun concept. Completely wasted. Hollywood keeps greenlit the idea and then forgetting to make the movie actually good.

RIPD is not a great film. But it’s a fine one. Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as dead cops policing the afterlife should have been brilliant. It made $78m on a $130m budget, the concept is great. The enjoy the film

Men in Black International had Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson and still only managed a 24% on Rotten Tomatoes. It can’t just be bad luck it’s a a script problem. The chemistry was there. Someone just forgot to write them anything worth saying.

Nicolas Winding Refn hasn't made a feature since The Neon Demon in 2016 and his return is a horror film starring Sophie Thatcher. Her Private Hell is in cinemas July 24. I don't know what this is going to be and that's exactly why I need to see it immediately.
