Digging into my review copy of Sylvester Stallone's The Steps. It looks like a fascinating read - offering a first-hand look into Stallone's early life & the world of Rocky. I can already hear Bill Conti's theme music.
@jfkenney The Douglas book is great! I think it'll be a good read. And I'm guessing it'll be the first of a few Stallone books that'll cover his life and career.

Scott Cooper's Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere: an offbeat musical biopic. Keeping the focus on the recording of Nebraska gives this a specific scope. Jeremy Allen White gives a good sense of The Boss as an isolated figure, grappling to find himself & his music. Interesting.
Podcast #120. Filmmaker Dara Van Dusen talks about her new film, A Prayer For The Dying.
Starring Johnny Flynn & John C. Reilly, the film is an arthouse western that packs an emotional & psychological punch.

I think most James Bond fans will agree that the below mentioned names are an absolute travesty. Also, these guys have all apparently been in contention from the get-go, so why even bother with this casting charade - when the decisions were already made?
Sources tell Deadline that screen test final auditions for the role to play James Bond could begin as early as tomorrow and go through the next week for its final group.
At least four test offers have been given out and while unconfirmed, insiders tell Deadline that three of the four actors expected to test are Jack Lowden, Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor.

If you really want to know my thoughts on casting the new James Bond, then listen to this episode of @AttheflicksPod - where I talk about my hopes, dreams & fears about where the franchise should - and could - go now that it's under Amazon's control.

Tom Skerritt dead at the age of 93. A veteran character actor with countless TV & film roles. He specialised in quiet authority figures. Roles included M*A*S*H, Alien, Top Gun, Space Camp, A River Runs Through It & Picket Fences. He was always assured, low-key & dependable.
@OutKse My issue with Jack Lowden as a possible James Bond candidate is that he looks like the end result of putting Ewan McGregor & Simon Pegg into the telepod from The Fly.
