Today was our Installation/Outstallation! Lynn Swon lead us in a celebration of Jireh Mabamba's year as president, acknowledging leadership and big decisions made along the way. Then Kim Krohn introduced the incoming board and talked about the exciting year to come!

Rotarians gathered together at Katar River for part of the Rotary on Lake Street tour coordinated by Minneapolis South and @UptownRotary clubs. They heard from the owner of the restaurant, and caught some of the World Cup on tv!

This Friday will be the last meeting of the Rotary year and our annual Installation/Outstallation where we celebrate our outgoing leaders for their amazing year of service, and hear from our incoming leadership about what changes the new year will bring.

Kim, John and Henry are on a post-Rotary International convention tour of Taiwan with local tour guides. About 50 Rotarians and friends are bussing around the island. These photos are from outside a tea producer, at a traditional lunch, and at Sun Moon Lake in Central Taiwan.

Today's speaker was Tom Rassieur, Minneapolis Institute of Art . He gave us an in depth look at their latest exhibit, Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910–1945.

Attending an RI Convention involves meeting Rotarians from all over the world. We have new friends from San Diego, Bangalore, & Kenya, & ran into our own Club 9 member Joel Restel! There are around 40 people from our district attending the RI Conference here in Taipei, Taiwan.

It was a great day for Rotary service. Today's program included an update from Unite for Good partner Simpson Housing Services, a year end summary from our Rotary Exchange scholar Reeba, and meeting five exceptional scholarship recipients.

Today's speaker was Olha Podvalna, a psychotherapist from Ukraine. She brought her perspective to us as a mental health practitioner working in a war zone. Her message: People are capable of doing amazing and resilient things, even under the most inhumane conditions.

Sara Dziuk, President of Junior Achievement North inspired us with the work they are doing to show a new generation of youth the breadth of opportunities available to them so they can see and realize the potential in themselves.

MN Supreme Court Justice Sarah Hennesy told us about her personal history to become a judge. She reviewed the rigorous process for initial appointment to the court and subsequent election. A stable independent judiciary is critical to our democracy and economic system.

Adam Duininck updated us on the Minneapolis Downtown Council’s critical initiatives. They have launched a new plan for downtown and are pushing new strategies including more green space, an indoor playground and improving the vibe.
