LOL, I’m sure the CIA, etc… is involved to a menacing degree, but LLM’s run on GPU’s. Companies like chatGPT, or Claude need massive compute to run, these data centers don’t just hold data, they hold the GPU’s used for the compute to run these massive models, and millions of instances.
I think zeds UI is cool, the ai stuff as well. I feel like zed is missing a strong agentic framework like opencode has, or something like universal Skills/ MCP where zed is the central point (you add an MCP to zed, and Claude Code/ Opencode inherits that either by owning the config or having a separate folder for most popular agents.)
@neogoose_btw Yes, the tree, tabs, modals, splits, animations, are all custom rust UI while the nvim buffer is using a custom rust pixel by pixel scroll!!
