My school is seeing a need to better support some of our #MiddleSchool Female Students.

Ill be starting a Girls Group to help empower & build up these young women in becoming more confident & positive role models on our campus. 💪🏼

3 out of 5 of my teacher team will be out this week and we need some large group games to organize and facilitate for the classes. Quick set up, low equipment, large class size friendly. Middle Grades (6-8) approved.

Model how to use them, have the whole class echo you or “fill in the blank” and then send Ss on their way to try it.

@hein_dustin Were masks optional outside too. Many of our Ss have chosen to continue to wear them outside. We can’t tell Ss to take off their masks 😎

💗Heart Rate Monitors would be amazing! So expensive! Our class sizes are 50+ Ss x 5 classes at a time x 6 periods a day 🤯

Ss learned about Heart Rate today. We used @calm before finding our resting HR. Then Ss completed an @edpuzzle workout that had them monitor their HR throughout the video!

Minus some 👎🏼wifi connections this lesson was a great way to engage Ss w/ the LO: Monitor Ss HR during PA.

As a 6th Grade teacher most of my Ss are not vaccinated, they aren’t old enough yet. So any that are considered close contacts will have to quarantine for the full 14 days 😭

The S immediately yelled out “I dont want to smell! Where can I get this deodorant!”

The class didnt laugh but everyone started sharing their favorite brand, smell, and store to go to!

Loved that my Ss took a potentially awkward topic & made it informational & helpful!

😳Today I had 2 firsts as a #PhysEd teacher…

While giving my Ss a tour of the locker rooms, I was going over our expectations for behavior & what their PE uniform should consist of, a S asked me…

“Is there PE underwear we should get?” He was super serious.

I paused & then replied “Now that youre in middle school, all of our bodies are going to be changing. 1 major thing that changes, is the hormones we produce.”

At this point about have my class was blushing but everyone was listening!

“Some hormones, cause you to smell.”
