I think one of the problems with primary school writing is the pressure to force in punctuation and grammar features. Imaginative writing in primary schools has lost its way because of ‘checklists’ and spaggy stuff.

Teaching my Year 3 class today, Covid lockdown period came up and they didn't know what Covid was!!!! OK so they would have only been 3 at the time but is it now just Ancient history to these kids! I feel old...
@DeputyGrocott 💯 last year's class were fantastic, working well and supporting. This year's just seem to want to moan about each other, there are some children that can't be put together to work. We have regular "I spotted kindness" chats and stickers but it will take a long time I think
@greg_jenner I always put Horrible Histories on whenever its wet play and I even used the scene about farming with @realmatbayntons and @JimHowick discovering milk. Kids love it!!
