3-Year Impact Data: Reading
Reading proficiency is the foundation of all learning — and over the past three years, it has been a clear priority for Newton County Schools.
We focused on:
✓ Investing in teacher development
✓ Aligning and refining literacy resources
✓ Clarifying instructional expectations
✓ Elevating evidence-based practices
✓ Studying the practices of high-performing districts
✓ Building a districtwide literacy blueprint
Result: Proficiency increased in 5 of 6 tested grade levels over three years.
This growth belongs to our teachers and school leaders who deliver for students every day.
We’re proud of this progress — and committed to continuing our good work.
Congratulations to all @NewtonCoSchools students nominated for CTAE awards!
Your hard work and commitment to CTAE pathways and workforce readiness are paving the way for bright futures!

📘 We Want Your Input!
Newton County Schools is reviewing new English Language Arts (ELA) instructional materials for middle and high school students, and we’re inviting our families and teachers to share their feedback.
Parents/guardians and educators can review the materials and complete a brief survey to help guide the adoption process. Your voice is an important part of ensuring we choose resources that best support our students’ learning.
🔗 Learn more, review the materials, and provide feedback here: https://t.co/GaMeLIIOyH
The survey will be open through Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
