Great start to the 2023-2024 season! Lots of new faces! A fantastic presentation by our officers, who also provided snacks! Even Dr. Tiemann, Mr. Smith-MW Activities Director and Mr. Hawkins stopped by to say HI and Good Luck! @getiemann@LanceSmith34@MWHSactivities
@chickbusiness8 My freshmen love jeopardy review games, small group review, whole-class questioning, and independent note review. I stress Cornell Notes in my honors class and that if they take notes efficiently, they'll be making little study guides over every chapter! #552Bobcat
@BrokenCrayons44 This is a focus in my English and Oral Communication classrooms as well! Knowing how to take part in discussion is part of being an effective citizen. In my mind, students need more opportunities to talk throughout the day to develop these skills! #552Bobcat
Jogging our brains after spring break with Hexagonal Thinking! This is a staple activity in my room - created this game sheet for students to more actively engage. Works for vocab, review, communication, note taking! #EDUProtocols#GoogleSlides#sschat@teacher2teacher
What a great resource to implement for small group discussions! I'm always looking for ways to deepen student discussions and keep the dialogue flowing through THEM #552Bobcat
This is such a simple and helpful infographic! Teaching Google Classroom expectations is something I do early in the school year and revisit throughout. My students would definitely benefit from this! #552Bobcat
@SvatoraLori@jflint24 I'm so jealous of your window! I am surrounded by four brick walls. Sometimes I take my classes to the library to read for a change of venue and some natural light!☀️ #552Bobcat
I love these discussion sentence stems! All students should practice using their voice in the classroom and flexing their questioning skills. Sentence stems are a great way to get them started #552Bobcat
Have you included debates in your instructional routines? Check out how T @MrDaubitz encourages Ss to stay cognizant of the claims they're making:

@bethany_lucas1@CanvaEdu I love @canva and I love this! I usually incorporate Canva in my Media Analysis class by having students make advertisements using their knowledge of tools of persuasion #552Bobcat
I like to incorporate Wellness Wednesdays during the winter months. Students fill out a Google Form checking in with how they are doing and if they want me to touch base with them. This helps me keep a pulse check on my kiddos during a busy and hard time of the year #552Bobcat
Snowpocalypse is striking again!! We are expected to get 2 feet of snow between today and tomorrow. What do you do in the classroom to help fight the winter blues away? #552Bobcat
@MissEloge I usually have classes in the 28-30 range. Thanks for sharing the resource! Depending on the group, management can seem like a challenge at times🤓 #552Bobcat
The English teacher hill I’ll die on: students have to talk. And talk and talk. Discuss books, short stories, their own writing, poetry, their opinions- all of it. Talk with their teachers, talk with each other. Discourse is a skill they’re learning. So is listening.
With this activity, educator @MrsSpinasClass' Ss continue their culture-building – not just in the back-to-school season, but all year round.

Mapping out their thoughts—before, during, and after reading a text—is a great way for high school students to strengthen their #ActiveReading skills. @DrSunainaSharma shares how this works in her classroom. https://t.co/6zJpirSAN5
