I’m looking through my notes from Block B and a quote from Dr. Corpus jumped off the page.
“Don’t do for a child, what a child can do for themself.” This is such a wise sentiment. If we believe our children are capable, we need to reflect that in our actions. #BUCOEImpact
I’m so blessed that @ButlerCOE has allowed me in BlockB to learn from Dr. Bloom every Wednesday morning, even if it’s over Zoom! This class constantly reminds me there is ALWAYS something good in every day! Enjoy our wear a hat theme day. What theme should we do next?#BUCOEImpact
I’ve been going back through some work I’ve saved from my own elementary school days. Turns out, I’ve been pretty consistant since 1st grade. Thanks to @ButlerCOE, I’m making my younger proud.
A quote worth sharing from the Take Me There: Greece exhibit at @TCMIndy. So excited to make this space out classroom for the next three weeks in Block B. #BUCOEimpact
The idea of a 3D shape being laid flat to find surface area is a difficult concept to grasp... Until now! Loved these pull-up shapes we made today for surface area and volume! #svusdshines
We like to always host a "Tea Party" to celebrate our Revolutionary War unit. Students take on a colonist and share a poem written from their perspective as a loyalists or a patriot. We use the text "Colonial Voices Hear Them Speak" #OpenUpELA
It was a wild day with our cooperating teacher out sick. It meant a lot of trying new things and taking charge. And we survived! SO Thankful to have @Ms_Osler as my co-teacher today and to have the support of the @ButlerLabSchool staff! #GreatteachingIN#BuCoeImpact
Today, Ms. Commerford’s class and I explored how to put in words that fit into the sentence. With the help of some very brave readers, we learned how to fill in the blanks left by words we don’t know!
As @MsWorlin and I were leaving the building yesterday, both of our focal children ran into the hall to come say hi. And for the first time, DJ ran to give me a hug and asked “When are you coming back, Miss Carroll?” Which was the first time he’s remembered my name ✌🏻

There are great teachers who have a “count down” to summer break. I realize it’s a common practice... but please think twice about it. We have students who don’t want the year to end; they’re not looking forward to the summer. Our school is the best place they have.
