Just like after the 2016 election, my students give me hope in a dark time. Their resiliency and excitement about learning even in the midst of this pandemic inspire me to keep going ๐๐พ
Had a great community circle w/ my advisory today about #COVIDใผ19 Students who donโt normally participate spoke up, and by using a stuffed animal talking piece, students did a great job of listening to each other. We discussed misinformation, racial prejudice, fear, and safety.
I am all for building positive relationships with students. I am a firm believer that students learn better from teachers they like, but once we have them invested, we need to be creating and offering quality content.
Positive relationships can be a powerful motivator. Students work harder for teachers they like and respect. And Teachers work harder for admin they like and respect too.
Wise words: Whoever is doing the talking is doing the learning.
