The hub does more work than most people realize, and most gauge wheels use stamped steel to do it. We don't.

Stamped steel flexes under the weight of the planter. That flex turns into wobble, and wobble shortens the life of your bearings and throws off how the wheel runs. We use cast iron because it holds its shape under load. Rigid hub, less wobble, longer bearing life, and a wheel that runs true long after a stamped steel hub would have given up.

We make the MudSmith Gauge Wheel in three sizes, 2.5", 3", and 4.5", because not every planter setup runs the same.

The 2.5" fits standard setups running in typical conditions.
The 3" is what we recommend when you're running a residue manager.
The 4.5" is built for heavier conditions where you need more rubber between you and the ground.
