We came together as one family, united in faith and purpose, at the Special Interfaith Prayer Session held this morning at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, to seek divine guidance, protection and victory for our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; our Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; and all APC candidates.
With God on our side, a united party behind our candidates and the people firmly at the heart of our campaign, victory is within our reach.
We will continue to work, mobilise and engage our people with humility and conviction. The task ahead is clear, and together, we shall deliver a resounding victory for the APC.
May Almighty Allaah continue to guide President Tinubu, Governor Sanwo Olu, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and all our leaders. May He grant our candidates wisdom, strength and victory at the polls.
Yesterday, I had the honour of witnessing a momentous traditional ceremony as His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, installed an illustrious son of Ibadanland and former Group Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank, Dr. Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, as the Balogun of Oyo.
The installation is a fitting recognition of Dr. Adeduntan’s distinguished contributions, exemplary leadership and service to humanity. I warmly congratulate him on this well deserved elevation and pray that his new role will further open doors for greater service to our people and the nation.
As part of my visit to Oyo State, I also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. It was a great privilege to pay homage to the revered monarch and benefit from his wisdom and counsel.
Our traditional institutions remain custodians of our heritage, values and identity. I will continue to hold our royal fathers in the highest esteem and support every effort that strengthens the bond between our traditional institutions and modern governance.
As we commemorate Eid-el-Maulud, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Muslim faithful across Lagos State and Nigeria.
This sacred occasion reminds us of the enduring teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose life exemplified compassion, humility, patience, justice, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
I enjoin us to reflect these virtues in our daily lives by promoting unity, caring for the vulnerable and strengthening the bonds that hold our society together.
May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and acts of worship, bless our homes, and grant our dear Lagos State and Nigeria continued peace, progress and prosperity.
I warmly felicitate with all sons and daughters of Yorùbáland, custodians of our indigenous heritage, traditional institutions, cultural enthusiasts and all who cherish the rich values and traditions of our people on the occasion of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day.
Ìṣẹ̀ṣe celebration is a reminder of our roots, our identity and the enduring wisdom of our forebears. It represents a heritage built on respect, communal values, cultural pride and reverence for the traditions handed down through generations.
As we celebrate today, may we continue to preserve the beauty of our culture, uphold its noble values and pass them on proudly to generations yet unborn.
Ẹ kú àjọyọ̀. Ẹ kú Ìṣẹ̀ṣe. Àṣà wa ni ìdánimọ̀ wa.
May peace, unity and prosperity continue to abide with our people and Lagos State.
Happy Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day!
The enduring strength of democracy is sustained by dialogue, cooperation and a shared commitment to finding enduring solutions to the challenges confronting our societies.
The 55th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Conference and Annual General Meeting, currently taking place at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC), Lilongwe, Malawi, provides a strategic platform for parliamentary leaders and legislators from across the African region to engage on critical issues of governance, legislative effectiveness and sustainable development.
The conference offers an important opportunity for the exchange of ideas, experiences and legislative practices, as we collectively seek to deepen parliamentary cooperation and strengthen the institutions that underpin democratic governance across our continent.
I look forward to continued constructive engagements and meaningful deliberations that will enrich our legislative practice and advance the ideals of parliamentary democracy, good governance and sustainable development across Africa.

“Sacred Covenant of Citizenship: Islam, Security and Our Duty to the Nigerian State” -
Citizenship is not a title. It is a covenant.
Security is not the government’s burden alone; it is our shared responsibility. A stronger Nigeria begins with citizens who understand that patriotism is action, not applause.
