@citizentvkenya An industrial cluster in fertilizer, chemicals and packaging as well as reliable power ignites LAPSSET’s dream of launching coastal and northern Kenya as engines of national growth. Vision 2030 lays the base, the post-2030 charter scales it! #LAPSSET#Vision2030…/6
@citizentvkenya And the story continues beyond 2030. As Kenya shapes a post-2030 national transformation plan to succeed Vision 2030, aiming for an industrialised, globally competitive, high income economy, the Lamu refinery gives that next chapter a head start! #LAPSSET#Vision2030…/5
@citizentvkenya This is where Kenya Vision 2030 meets Dangote Vision 2030. Kenya gains fuel security and an industrial corridor that pays its way; Dangote and Kenya both gain an Indian Ocean hub serving Kenya and seven neighbouring markets. #LAPSSET#Vision2030…/4
@citizentvkenya With the refinery targeted for completion by 2030, LAPSSET’s Vision 2030 promise comes within reach: busier berths at Lamu, pipeline links toward Ethiopia and South Sudan, 1000MW of new power and approximately 60,000 jobs. #LAPSSET#Vision2030…/3
@citizentvkenya LAPSSET has long been one of Kenya’s boldest Vision 2030 flagships: a port & industrial corridor built ahead of demand. A 700K bpd refinery changes that equation, giving Lamu Port guaranteed cargo in & out and the corridor the anchor investor it needed! #LAPSSET#Vision2030…/2
🔴 In his intervention, @mugokibati, Chief Executive Officer, @TelkomKenya, brought a practitioner’s perspective, challenging the often abstract opposition between state and market by grounding the discussion in Kenya’s experience.
Folk say Shakespeare is hard to understand, but it isn’t when it is delivered like this by Ian McKellen. Amazing how the language flows and stops to flow again, immediately comprehensible even to the modern ear. Both of them geniuses in their own way.
When history remembers Alliance at 100, it will not ask who spoke the loudest—but who stood up when it mattered.
The Multipurpose Complex will serve generations long after us. Boys we may never meet will gather there, shaped by the space we chose to build.
This is our moment to act.
We invite you once more to the Fundraising Dinner at Serena on 20th February.
Your presence is your statement. Your plate is your legacy.
Strong to Serve.
Long before boardrooms and public office, leadership was forged in school corridors. Mugo Kibati shares how Alliance High School’s emphasis on service, integrity, discipline and leadership shaped the first generation of post independence leaders and continues to influence leadership across sectors today. Leadership begins much earlier than we think.
@mugokibati
Alumni networks hold more than memories. They hold influence.
In this moment from Principles Talk, @mugokibati speaks to the power of alumni associations coming together to raise standards, speak with authority, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Principles’ Talk is where these conversations begin.
Save your seat to the next one on 12th February here: https://t.co/j2rsI73RGN

On this day one memory lingers — Tokyo 2011. After a long V2030 day, Maurice Ogeta told me “Jakom’s alone, he needs company.” Found him watching Arsenal, just the two of us that evening. No policy, just jokes, stories & that unforgettable laugh. Fare thee well Jakom #RailaOdinga
Few individuals in my lifetime have had as great an impact on the trajectory of our nation as has Raila Odinga. We have him and his sacrifices and resilience over the decades to thank for our nation’s current constitutional order. Thank you Baba, rest well and in peace.
What a tough day! Raila Odinga was that rare politician who was actually a leader, who had convictions he was willing to die for, yet full of humanity. Working with him & the late Pres Kibaki on V2030 was a true honor. My deepest sympathies to Mama Ida & the entire Odinga family.
Leading change?
Forget universal buy-in; it’s a unicorn.
Start with a "Coalition of the Willing".
Where: Momentum > consensus.
Results will bring the rest.

A true giant has fallen. As a boy, Phoebe Asiyo alongside the likes of Wangari Mathai, Eddah Gachukia, Julia Ojiambo, Grace Ogot, Grace Onyango, Chelegat Mutai showed us that leadership & inspiration were not a preserve of any gender. My condolences to Caesar & the family. RIP
