I stopped by @muralarts' Career Connected Learning Program, where
Over the last six weeks, over 100 teens explored the community mural-making process while engaging with civic services and those who provide them. With interviews and research, they created a mural series that highlights the life of public service roles - lifting the voices of the unsung individuals who keep our city running. Thank you for having me!

For over a year, we've been working on a massive piece of public art -- basically it is a peace garden memorial to honor the lives lost to gun violence. It incorporates shredded guns, and the garden beds will have "gun mulch" made from the wood stock of surrendered guns. It will softly light up every 12 minutes to honor another life lost to guns in America. THIS SUNDAY from 12-3 we'll be having an epic block party and dedication. Join us if you can! All the info is in the flyer here... (grateful to my pal Jacob C. Hammes and @muralarts for the partnership on this holy project!).
ICYMI, our @CBSMornings feature captured the spirit of our city’s public art and the people who bring it to life! Our Executive Director, Jane Golden, and artists Reese Juelg and Alloyius Mcilwaine shared their inspiring stories about what it means to create in Philadelphia.
