Class 5A 9th-ranked MHS softball beat Clinton on Thursday night, 10-2 and 13-0. McKenna Hogan picked up the win in Game 2. Players signed posters afterward for the next generation of Muskies.
MHS (6-1, 4-0 MAC) travels to 3A #2 Dubuque Wahlert on Friday night.
MHS baseball swept Davenport West on Thursday night, 11-1 and 2-1, at Tom Bruner Field. The Muskies rode the pitching of Cal Hollenbaugh and Isaac Jones to a pair of wins.
The Muskies (7-6, 4-2 MAC) travel to Fort Madison on Friday night for a twinbill.
MHS boys soccer saw its season come to an end Wednesday night with a 1-0 loss to Iowa City Liberty in a Class 4A substate semifinal. The Lightning scored the only goal in the 64th minute of the match.
The Muskies close the year 9-6-2. Fun season, boys.
All-MAC boys soccer teams are out.
Muscatine has five players represented: Cole Loos (first team), Santiago Calderon (second team), Adam Fisher (second team), Jackson Evans (HM), Noah Cerda (HM).
Loos leads Muskies with 11 goals & 9 assists.

A signing ceremony was held Tuesday morning inside the Muscatine High School auditorium to celebrate 13 student-athletes who are taking the next step and continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

MHS senior Kensley Paul has been named the Mel Steckel Outstanding Senior Female Athlete — marking the 50th year of the prestigious honor. Paul was honored Wednesday at the YMCA.
Paul competed in XC, basketball, track & field, and softball during the past calendar year.
What started as a normal shift at work Monday night turned into a life-changing moment for Muscatine senior Giovani Ocampo.
Giovani has been selected as a 2026 Gates Scholar — one of just 750 students nationwide.
