This! Stop with the fake analogies. AI is not like the camera. It’s not like recorded music. It’s not like the printing press. AI is rooted in exploitation. It could not exist in the absence of existing works. It is wholly derivative.

While Joe & I come from very different places, I always appreciate his thoughtful views on AI, & the dangers of acquiescing to the dilution of our agency. IMHO, the best way of demystifying AI is to focus on the inputs rather than the outputs—revealing the emperor’s nakedness.
