We are proud to announce that the @TheDerpBirds have acquired the @MutantNFTs project and IP🚀

Every part about this acquisition is for the greater good of the Cardano ecosystem by allowing some of the most used tech and platforms to continue on the blockchain while keeping OG projects moving forward with the communities they have grown over the years.

@MutantNFTs is proud to announce that @905Rico will be stepping up as the project lead while having the support of the @TheDerpBirds ecosystem & dev work of @geek_derp 🙏✊

@MutantNFTs will remain its OWN IP and look to grow the brand and NFTs already existing in the project.

We would like to thank @andyyy1_ @glneto_ and the previous Mutant team for all their hard work that they have put in to the project and being absolute pioneers in the Cardano Ecosystem.

Mutants Token Update:

We are happy to announce we will be revamping the TOKEN USED & EARNED within the Mutant Ecosystem. This will be the first major change for Mutants since the DERP acquisition. After evaluating the ecosystem, we do not see Mutant Token as a viable option moving forward. Instead, we are consolidating it into Derp Token to ensure a more streamlined and sustainable ecosystem.

What Does This Mean?

We are launching a Mutant Token to Derp Token exchange, allowing all holders to transition into the Derp ecosystem!

How Does It Work?
🔹The exchange will be open for 2 weeks
🔹16:1 exchange ratio (Mutant:Derp)
🔹 After the exchange closes, any remaining team allocation will be burned, and Mutant Token will be discontinued.

ANNOUNCEMENT

After much consideration, we’ve made a tough decision about the future of our project. While we’ve built a strong foundation with a working marketplace, raffles, and staking, with our current limited dev resources, we can’t push updates or develop new products for the time being. Because of this, we are now open to offers from projects or dev teams interested in acquiring what we’ve built.

Why We’re Making This Decision:

- Our only developer now has to focus on his Web2 job because Web3 was no longer profitable enough for him to continue building here. Simply put, Web2 pays him more, and we can’t expect him to keep working on this project without proper compensation.
- Over the past years, we delivered a working marketplace, raffles, staking. However, due to our dev’s limited availability—especially while providing ongoing support for the app and partner projects—we couldn’t finish the trait shop, the final piece of our roadmap. We started working on it but had to pause development as the requested Raffles V2 update took too much time.
- We wanted to expand to a new chain but didn’t find one that would be profitable enough under current market conditions. On top of that, the memecoin boom completely shifted the market’s attention, making this cycle 100% focused on memecoins. This killed momentum for raffles and NFTs, which are our core products.
- We could have done another mint/catalyst to raise funds for mining, development, etc., but we chose not to. Reason why is that asking for funds is a tricky thing, especially with our team’s current availability, and there was no guarantee it would succeed. Also, many other projects are already taking this approach, and rather than forcing another mint, we decided to be transparent about our situation.

What This Means for NFT Holders:

- Trait Shop: We’re sorry we couldn’t complete it, but anyone who buys the project still has the opportunity to finish it themselves with what is already ready.
- Mutant App Sale: We are open to offers for selling the Mutant App (formerly Mutant Labs) and will split the proceeds 50/50 with NFT holders, sending them an airdrop. The date, details and amount of ADA to be airdropped will be announced once the sale is concluded, we have no info on that atm.

The Future of Mutants

We believe that a new team of devs could bring even more success to the project, as everything is working perfectly. With the right team, the project could scale and continue to grow beyond what we were able to do. Until we manage to find a new dev team to the project, we will remain active, keeping everything online and offering support as usual, nothing will change on that.
