I consider myself passionate about everything related to embedded systems, and I feel grateful for having been able to turn my hobby into my profession.
Just finished a deep dive into the schematic design for the Meshtastic Build Off 2026!
In this post, I break down the process behind my RetroMesh device. Check it out here: https://t.co/RID6xx9TUV

Not all stock Meshtastic/MeshCore antennas perform the same. I tested 3 bundled antennas with a NanoVNA โ one had an SWR of 2.9 at 868 MHz. Here's how to check yours before deploying:

Just deployed my own #Meshcore repeater @SeeedStudio. I have been experimenting with this node for my place. If you're thinking about it, there are some critical things the community doesn't talk about enough. Started writing a guide because even "basic" stuff matters. Continue
Deploying a @seeedstudio SenseCAP Meshcore Repeater? Here is one of the most critical things you need to consider before setting it up. Check out the link!

Two things many deployers don't expect: OTAFIX quirks and nRF Connect randomly acting finicky. Built a guide covering these because I hit the same walls. If you're planning a Meshcore repeater setup, these gotchas matter. Just dropped it if you want to check it out
Stop wasting hours installing Zephyr RTOS on Windows! I finally figured out the right way to flash XIAO boards and put everything in this guide. Don't get stuck where I did. Check it out: https://t.co/dHlaHkQ4Y9

By default, MeshCore companion nodes do NOT retransmit messages โ only repeaters do. This prevents network congestion. You can enable retransmission on companions, but it's off by default. A smarter approach for larger, busier networks. #LoRa#MeshCore
Have a device with Meshtastic but want to switch to Meshcore?
We just published a complete step-by-step guide on how to flash Meshcore firmware on any compatible device, including the Seeed Wio Tracker L1 Pro.

I wrote a full breakdown on how to set this up, including the math and the calibration steps.

Let me know if youโve ever killed a detector by forgetting an attenuator. I almost did.
Stop guessing your RF output power. Most modules don't actually push what the datasheet says, and measuring it wrong is the fastest way to fry your gear.
Iโve been using the AD8319 to build a reliable (and cheap) RF power meter.

This setup works for everything from 1MHz to 8GHz.
Whether you are tuning Meshtastic nodes or custom IoT hardware, knowing your real dBm saves hours of troubleshooting range issues. It's the best "budget" lab upgrade you can make.
