He was appointed to the Gauteng High Court in January 2023. He was not born in South Africa — he moved here in 2002. SERI has won a number of those cases. Some involve foreign nationals as occupiers or traders; many involve South African residents.

BREAKING NEWS 🗞️ : The SIU has uncovered a coordinated study visa fraud system inside Home Affairs.
Corrupt officials allegedly approved applications using fake acceptance letters from unregistered or non-existent colleges. Bribes were paid through e-wallets, cash deposits, and accounts linked to officials’ spouses. Many “students” never attended class and instead ran businesses that generated millions in kickbacks. The SIU has referred 7 officials for discipline, 278 cases to the NPA, and 205 matters for visa cancellations and deportations. The investigation is ongoing.
