Notre Dame Linked Experimental Ecosystem Facility. A ecological research facility featuring linked stream, pond and wetland ecosystems, and pair of bald eagles!
Hatching can happen any day now at @NDLEEF! 🦅🥚
After ~35 days of incubation, eaglets peck a small pip hole through the shell to start hatching.

Great news from the nest 🦅🥚
Friday around 6:30 PM, the bald eagles at ND-LEEF laid a third egg!
After the loss of egg #1 earlier this week, the new arrival is an encouraging sign. With two eggs now in the nest, the pair has resumed steady incubation: https://t.co/HZss5GXBZs
🦅🥚Yesterday afternoon, the eagles at ND-LEEF laid a second egg. Unfortunately, during incubation egg #1 broke.
This pair has laid a third egg in past seasons. If another egg is laid, we may see it within the next 2-3 days.

First egg of the season at ND-LEEF! 🦅🥚
Laid Friday evening and now under careful incubation. Based on 7 years of records, a second egg is likely today or tomorrow. Watch out for the next one!

Two days after installing the new wide angle cam, a juvenile bald eagle landed in the nest to feed on leftover food...until the resident adults drove it off!
Thank you to @LogistickInc for the wide angle cam support, which made this observation possible.
