@ryanaltvater@supermudspike@MarathonDevTeam This is something else. The free week didn't even technically start until hours after launch. They've been having problems since the beginning
@XavierNukes@ExoGhost Sure but I don’t think ppl realize that no matter what, they HAD to ship another game outside of Destiny. Sony bought them for over $3B with the promise that they would have 4 games going at the same time. They instead scrapped everything but was forced by Sony to push Marathon.
@BatPunk741@Y2KTimeMachine@PaulTassi@Forbes Yeah, I don’t count Arc and those other games you listed I don’t even really see as competition. I could be wrong but I don’t see them doing anything crazy that makes them stick out from the rest. Marathon is definitely doing more than solid for the ppl who actually play it.
@AlexWolfheartt@Onepeg How about you quit answering a question with even more questions and list one single game. You’re the one trying to do these mental gymnastics and can’t directly answer the fuckin question lmao
@GilbertTheGray@pcgamer You should be bored about how much you post. That sounds like a very miserable life and you could be utilizing that time actually enjoying yours. lol Numbers don’t translate to the quality of game. That’s what happens with a very niche genre. Don’t ever expect appeal to masses.
@Y2KTimeMachine@PaulTassi@Forbes I mean who else is there really to compete with in the extraction space outside of Arc?? Nobody. Marathon’s newest map is arguably the most brutal multiplayer experience currently on the market. I can’t think of another game that competes let alone another extraction game
@JB_Ratel@PaulTassi@Forbes Arc has the same price tag and has maybe half the amount of content. Regardless of the price tags for both games. $40 is very cheap considering the amount of time you can easily sink into both of them. I paid $60 for both and still find that to be cheap compared to my time in.
@esperavt@ottrTweets Yeah this guy’s garbage at every game he plays. That’s why to him, all games are bad. lol Dude’s always playing like a bot in these clips, then is surprised when he gets shit on. Shit’s hilarious
@ottrTweets Majority of the clips I see from you, you’re getting shit on then complain about the game. That arm sleeve is so unnecessary brother. You’re not running through anybody lol
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 And Yes, the skill floor is much higher than Arc. You don’t have to learn every single ability, but for someone who doesn’t play cod or anything similar. It just adds an extra layer of things to learn, more so than Arc. Arc is just a much better and polished game for casuals.
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 Go back and read the original tweet that you initially responded to. What you said right here was my entire point. Extraction shooters are not casual friendly in general. If that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t find Marathon appealing but Arc is as casual friendly as it gets
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 I didn’t even mention Cryo thwee. I’m talking about the atrocious UI. You gotta put in time to even get an understanding of how to navigate through all the different menus. Learning all the different abilities, cores and build crafting. Marathon practically pushes casuals away
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 Brother, if think the average casual isn’t going to get smacked in the face the first time they lay their eyes on the UI. You’re delusional. That’s just the start, there’s so many layers and so much more depth than Arc. There’s so many more things to learn. It takes a lot of time
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 I’ve got over 400 hrs in Arc, I love it. I only have about 60 hours in Marathon. But comparing my first 60 hrs of arc to marathon. They’re almost not even in the same conversation. It’s such a night and day difference in depth and complexity.
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 You get knocked in Arc, you can still crawl to extract and not worry about being finished off. You get knocked in Marathon and the AI is instantly sucking the remaining life out of you lol You’re going to lose so much more and at a faster rate than Arc.
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 Sure you get a lot of items but so do you in Arc. The difference is that you have the option to bring 1-3 items safely back with you every time. Arc respects your time, Marathon doesn’t. The average casual will give up Marathon for its difficulty
@Bargus96@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 Do me a favor and look into all the details of Cryo Archive. Just look at everything you have to do, all while not dying and competing against the most cracked out pvp players in the game. It’s by far the most brutal multiplayer experience currently on the market.
@CoyoteJoe304@bumbadum14 I hope there’s no casuals trying to get into Mararhon. They’re in for a brutal awakening. Extraction shooters in general are no where near casual friendly. Arc is probably the only option because that’s as casual as it gets for an extraction shooter
