Despite the mayhem of her music, Gaga’s found balance in her life with her recent fiancé. “Sometimes I worry people will think I’m boring now… but honestly? Thank God I’m boring. Thank God!”
In her interview with us, she opens up about musical synesthesia and reconnecting with her roots: “The chaos I thought was gone is still here, ready to greet me whenever I choose. Part of the message of the album—starting with the first track—is that your demons stay with you from the beginning to the end, but it’s not bleak. Maybe it’s time to make peace with them instead of constantly running.”

Introducing the Women in Hollywood Class of 2024! Each year, @ELLEmagazine celebrates the woman trailblazers of the film industry, and this year's portfolio is no exception.
Starting with our Risk-Takers: the cast of #EmiliaPerez dared to break new ground with their movie-musical about a drug lord. On the filming experience, #SelenaGomez shared, “the sisterhood ended up becoming what got us through.”
The Discovery, #MikeyMadison, radiated talent in the lead role of Anora as a Brooklynite sex-worker. Mikey underwent intensive training for the role, cementing her place as a rising star. She shared her thoughts on her newfound recognition: “it’s felt a bit surreal.”
Our Truth-Teller, #DemiMoore, provoked minds in the body-horror film #TheSubstance. She spoke about her vulnerability as Elizabeth Sparkle on screen: “any exposure of my own insecurities would be worth it if I was part of bringing forward the conversation.”
The Voice, #CynthiaErivo, shattered boundaries with her portrayal of Elphaba as a woman of color in the #Wicked movie. Reflecting on the part, she said, “it was a really wonderful experience to step into this role, outside of my own skin, and into someone else’s, who has also been ‘othered.’”
The Witness, #DanielleDeadwyler, harnessed her Georgia roots and rich history education at Spelman and Columbia to perform in #ThePianoLesson: “as someone who’s been reared in the South, I have to tell the full gamut of our stories.”
The Virtuosos from #TheRoomNextDoor, Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, had a long-overdue collaboration in their Spanish drama directed by Pedro Almodóvar. Tilda shared, “we’ve just made up for lost time. Now we’re old friends, even though we’ve only been together for a year.”
The Explorer, #SaoirseRonan, marked new territory with her somber roles in #Blitz, a World War II drama, and #TheOutrun, a film about sobriety. “It really was a way for me to heal from my own wounds,” she told.
