Midwifery is ESSENTIAL reproductive health care. Midwives support people throughout their pregnancies AND postpartum. NIRH is proud to advocate for midwives – their expertise improves health outcomes and supports autonomy for pregnant and birthing people!

A win for patients in #Idaho – a federal judge has granted PROTECTION to St. Luke's providers who perform abortions for patients suffering a medical emergency. It's up to states to proactively guarantee access to emergency abortion care to protect patients’ lives and autonomy.
NIRH is proud to have supported a Maryland bill that, if signed into law, will put $25 MILLION towards abortion care! HB930/848 ensures these funds go where they were intended: to help patients access essential care. Maryland is setting an example for 26 other states to follow ✅
In the first criminal charges under Texas’ abortion ban, a Texas midwife has been arrested for allegedly providing illegal abortions. This is NOT an isolated incident - it is the predictable result of a coordinated effort to criminalize providers. Read on.

People deserve access to medical care - regardless of their capacity for pregnancy. Treating hypothetical kids as having more value than real patients cannot be tolerated - whether through denying hysterectomies, abortion bans, or preventing BC access. Our repro health is OURS!
This story by @motherjones is a horrific example of what happens when we criminalize pregnancy. Pregnant people facing difficult circumstances need medical care, not punishment that makes them less likely to seek care. Read the article at the link below!

Actual good news!! A #Montana judge has blocked three unconstitutional anti-abortion laws! 🥳 This is a major win for ALL Montanans who deserve full access to reproductive health care.
Abortion being talked about on #LoveIsBlind? And the WORD “abortion” is actually said? Yes please! Let’s take a lesson from Virginia, and make sure that your partner shares your pro-abortion values.
IT’S ABOUT DIGNITY! IT’S ABOUT RESPECT! NIRH was proud to partner with @themeteor and get the chance to chat with feminist activist and writer #jamiawilson at #MeetTheMoment about Reproductive Justice, RJ history, and how our elected officials need to SHOW UP for abortion rights!
This is a PSA to anti-abortion people who spend their free time harassing strangers on the sidewalk: YOU NEED A HOBBY! But don’t worry, NIRH is here to help with A LOT of handy dandy options 😊
NEW LEGISLATION ALERT! The Reproductive Health Equity Fund will directly benefit both the people of #Minnesota and local clinics and providers. This is the kind of robust legislation that state governments NEED to pass. Follow @ourjustice for more information on how to support!
Our communities are in danger from the Trump admin - yet Albany has been too quiet. We’re calling out their inaction. ADD YOUR NAME: Tell state lawmakers that we need strong leadership amid the barrage of attacks against trans people, immigrants, and more.

Today, a Maricopa County Superior Court judge permanently blocked Arizona’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. NIRH will continue supporting the brave efforts of activists committed to making abortion accessible for ALL people seeking care in Arizona.
#Medicaid is in danger, and attacks on this program could mean millions of Americans lose their health care coverage. Learn more about what is at stake if Republicans in Congress complete their mission to dismantle Medicaid.
Massachusetts is leading the way with a bill that ensures abortion care decisions stay where they belong – between patients and providers. NIRH is proud to support this bill along with our partner in Massachusetts, @reproequity_now ! Go Massachusetts!
NIRH is proud to support a bill to fund the Public Health Abortion Grant Program. WITHOUT using taxpayer money, this fund will ensure people can access abortion and make the right a reality. This is a model that we hope states will follow to protect and expand abortion access.
ICYMI, this week the Supreme Court declined to take up an anti-abortion case that aimed to eliminate “buffer zones” outside of clinics. Do NOT think that Clarence Thomas cares about the constitution. He is trying to protect his anti-abortion billionaire buddies and their agenda.
