🚀🌐 Yesterday, we kicked off the very first South-South Learning Session under our Southern Voice on Global Development (SVGD) project! Joined by 40 participating researchers and colleagues, we focused the discussions of this inaugural meeting on Research Design and Methodology.

The session zoomed in on how to strengthen the methodological foundations of our work. We shared and critiqued research designs across SVGD's five selected case studies, aligning on a comparative framework and discussing sampling strategies, data collection methods, and ethical considerations. We were glad to see a very open and collaborative exchange! Peer feedback will now allow participants to work towards even greater methodological consistency to increase comparability across these studies. ✍️

This was the first of four learning sessions planned for 2026. Over the coming months, the teams will continue exchanging knowledge through meetings on the Actionability of Studies, Connecting Local Findings with Global Debates, and finally a Results Sharing Symposium to conclude the year's learning journey.
