In 1950, there were 228mn people living in Africa, with about 33mn in cities. Today there are 1.6bn Africans, 19% of the world’s total, of whom 670mn live in cities. Almost unnoticed, Africa has become an urban story, explains the FT's David Pilling. https://t.co/3LHJL8BFaI

Very pleased to partner with Zaria Group, led by Masai Ujiri, co-founder of @GiantsOfAfrica, to help build a multi-country platform for sports and entertainment districts across #Africa.

Sport is not only culture — it is also business, infrastructure, jobs, tourism, and opportunity. With greater private sector investment and professionalization, Africa can capture far more value from its sports and entertainment industries.

Proud to see the @WorldBankGroup supports this vision. #ACF26
