@ashleyschendel Another is working on it now, looking to buy next year. The duo in the 1bd, will move to the 2bd until they buy their own. When that happens, my youngest will move into the 1bd. And the cycle repeats.
When everyone is on their own we have rentals for income. Win/win. /end
@ashleyschendel We live on some acreage where we built 2 more small houses. 1 w/2 bds, 1 w/1 bd. Our kids live in them & pay rent & their utility bills. The goal is to allow them to save up $ to buy something of their own.
1 has already done this w/her husband /1
@ScottLaudati A lot of the ones I know, aside from you, write splatterpunk, horror and a few even write fantasy. I'm sure there's more, those are just the spaces I've run into them.
This ๐ฏ. Mark edited the entire American Nomads series. By the end of the series, he was so well versed w/the characters, he even pointed out that a Cajun character of mine, โmight not say it this way.โ ๐
I honestly think his feedback helped me become a better writer.
AI has been trained on hundreds of thousands of books and 95% of those books have spelling errors. AI will flatten your writer's voice. https://t.co/oqGT2mSeAi

What is in your book?
@Whitedale_U Hereโs the link to the CNBC article.
It looks like Hatchet didnโt care, initially, but after the recent court ruling, they changed their stance because in the words of the McMillan CEO, โNo one can own Ai generated work.โ

@Whitedale_U Found this clip of a recent interview w/the CEO of McMillan. Also saw an article on CNBC from a couple of days ago where the courts recently ruled that work created through Ai, cannot be copyrighted. /1
CEO of Macmillan: "Our copyright law doesn't protect things created by AI. Nobody can own it. It's not subject to copyright protection.
So now, as a businessman, am I going to invest in something that has zero barrier to entry?
If I publish that book tomorrow and it's deemed not to be covered by copyright, everyone else can publish a different version for that book."

@MichelleMo28539@Whitedale_U Ah, more clarity. Thank you.
Iโll never understand how folks can release a book without reading it so many times, you could recite it word for word, blindfolded. I once published through a smaller press, even then, I read it one more time when I got my copies.
@Whitedale_U Makes sense, and good to know. Still begs the question how it got this far. With all those eyes reading it, someone should have flagged it early on.
