From today to 8 August, Amsterdam will host WorldPride for the first time. Pride celebrates the freedom to be yourself and love who you love. This is a fundamental human right. NL stands for equality, inclusion and a world where everyone can live openly, safely and with dignity.

I had a good conversation with the new British Prime Minister @Andyburnham. The friendship between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as North Sea neighbours, is very strong: from trade and AI to the energy transition, and from human rights to our security and defence.

We both recognise the ongoing need to support Ukraine and the leading role the UK plays in the Coalition of the Willing. The Netherlands will also help to strengthen ties between the UK and the EU.

As NATO partners, the UK and the Netherlands are investing in (joint) defence projects and together we are preparing a mission to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, when circumstances permit.

I look forward to continuing our cooperation with Andy Burnham. We will meet soon in London or The Hague.

🇳🇱🤝🇬🇧 Furthering maritime defense cooperation & strengthening NATO through joint procurement

At @NATO Ankara Summit, @MinPres Jetten and Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer signed a new maritime partnership to see Dutch and British forces equipped with new amphibious transport ships.

Good news! In Ankara, I signed a new maritime partnership between our countries with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer, worth nearly 3 billion euros.

Dutch and British companies will work together to build four of the most advanced amphibious transport ships for each of our countries.

This deal will create hundreds of jobs and provides a significant boost to NATO in its efforts to counter maritime threats.
