Sharing our 2025 posters over the past couple of weeks got us thinking about some of our old posters.

This is the poster for the first ever Connections in 1995, or 'BT National Connections' as it was known then, pictured at the National Theatre Archive.

Celebrating 30 years of Connections, each photo is taken in a different space where Connections happens across the UK, with young people from theatre groups there shot by Tami Aftab.

Our ninth Connections 2025 play poster to share with you is for Normalised by Amanda Verlaque. We travelled to @CrescentArts in Belfast to capture the brilliant young people from CAYT (Crescent Arts Youth Theatre).

We love this video from @TRPlymouth and @PlymptonAcademy about their experience at our National Theatre Connections Festival in June 💚

Congratulations to students at @PlymptonAcademy who, in June, had the chance of a lifetime – to perform at the @NationalTheatre! 🎭

They performed The Periodicals, which was part of the @NTConnections Festival, held here in The Drum in April.

The accompanying image is taken from Stockton Riverside College’s production of Shout by Alexis Zegerman, from our 2024 portfolio. The characters on stage were reading DNA by Dennis Kelly, a Connections play from our 2007 portfolio. What a lovely Easter Egg!
