Amazon Teamsters in New York City are on the verge of passing the Delivery Protection Act and becoming the first city to end dangerous delivery subcontracting. The legislation has support from @NYCMayor and a supermajority of the council. But New Yorkers are waiting on @SpeakerMenin to put this important bill up for a vote.

Speaker Menin, the ball is in your court. It’s time to stand with workers and to listen to every day New Yorkers. It’s time to pass the Delivery Protection Act!

Oscar Bergal was shot by ICE in my district last Thursday, then pulled out of the hospital by ICE while still needing surgery. His lawyers say he’s in solitary with the bullet lodged in his neck, his face is numb, and he’s losing hearing in one ear. This is atrocious and inhumane, but it’s not a mistake. It’s yet another example of ICE working as designed. We don’t need another few years of broken safeguards. We need to abolish ICE.

Yesterday, ICE agents shot, wounded, and abducted Oscar Belgal. When the community gathered in solidarity, they were met with police violence. We say no more. ICE out of New York. Abolish ICE. End NYPD violence and complicity.

Not only do we want to disband the NYPD’s SRG, but we also need to pass the CURB Act to ban all of its abusive practices, so that a new unit does not repeat the same misconduct under a different name. We need a hearing now.
