While you were sleeping last night, our NST & Patrol officers were working hard to keep our community safe.
On 2 different occasions, our officers successfully recovered 2 illegal firearms and illegal drugs, removing both from our streets and helping make our neighborhood safe.

Last night, while conducting a vehicle checkpoint, Sgt. Gonzalez Vargas and the FTU Team recovered a loaded firearm, taking another dangerous weapon off our streets. 
Great work by the Sergeant and the FTU Team in keeping our community safe.

During/after Bronx Dominican Day Parade, NYPD arrested 16 people and recovered 16 illegal firearms in the 44th Precinct, including a loaded assault-style rifle possessed by a teenager, after the shooting death of 12-year-old Jacob Freytes. NYPD vows to remove illegal guns.

NYPD officers confiscated numerous sound systems that were being operated in violation of city regulations. Excessive noise and unauthorized equipment can create safety hazards and impact the quality of life for residents & visitors.

NYPD officers worked tirelessly to enforce quality-of-life laws and protect paradegoers. As a result, officers confiscated a large quantity of illegally sold alcoholic beverages.

After a brief foot pursuit, 44 Patrol officers apprehended an individual in possession of this loaded handgun.

The firearm, along with multiple rounds of ammunition and a magazine, was seized.

We received complaints regarding illegal garbage dumping in the area. A big thank you to the Department of Sanitation for responding so quickly and addressing the issue. We appreciate your swift action in helping keep our neighborhood clean and safe. We will continue to monitor.

Earlier this morning, our Q-Team, working in conjunction with the Vehicle Recovery Unit, successfully removed 18 vehicles that were either unregistered, abandoned or illegally parked. We want the community to know that your 311 complaints are being addressed.
