We are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A500 at Shavington. Traffic might be heavier than usual so please avoid the area if you can.
Congratulations to Firefighter Brereton who was presented with his black peak by Watch Manager Brown this evening.
This allows him to ride number 3 on the fire engine as a BA team leader.
Well done on all your hard work๐
We had a fantastic time at Nantwich Leisure Centre with the Public Services students from Reaseheath College! It was great to chat with them about the importance of water, road, and fire safety.
Hopefully some future firefighters amongst them.

We gave him a tour of the fire engine and showed him the equipment and PPE that we use today and he was astonished how much things had changed. A real character, and a delight to meet.
It was great to welcome Ted Thomas to the station yesterday. Ted, who is 90 in September, joined Shropshire Fire Service in 1959 and rose to Assistant Divisional Officer in charge of โB Divisionโ covering most of the lower half of the county. He retired in 1982.
Firefighters from @NantwichFS, @BollingtonFS and @LymmFS rescued a cow that was stuck in mud in Tarporley. The crews first had to clear shrubbery to reach the stuck animal and then use specialist equipment to bring her to safety.

After 7 years and 10 months of serving his local community Firefighter Elson hung up his Nantwich tunic for the last time at the end of March.
He continues to serve as a Watch Manager within the Service through a wholetime role. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
