she's just everything, man.
Opening up about something I’m currently exploring has reminded me just how nuanced mental health really is.
The more I learn, the more I realize that we often want simple answers for experiences that are anything but simple. As human beings, we’re incredibly complex. We’re shaped by our biology, our lived experiences, our relationships, our environment, and even the generations that came before us.
That’s why I don’t think labels are inherently good or bad.
For some people, a label can feel limiting. For others, it can be life-changing because it gives language to something they’ve struggled to explain for years. A diagnosis or psychological framework doesn’t define who you are, but it can help you understand how your mind works and point you toward the support that fits.
I want to use this space to raise awareness, not because I have all the answers, but because I think conversations like these matter. Curiosity is more valuable than certainty, and understanding is more valuable than judgment.
If sharing my own journey helps even one person feel less alone, ask better questions, or seek the support they need, then it’s worth having these conversations.
We are always more than a label. But sometimes a label is where understanding begins.
Thank you so much to my collaborators, friends, family, and, fans who made this album possible 🤍 I had the best time celebrating with all of you in Toronto. Can’t wait to sing all these songs with you on the No Sleep In Paradise tour this Fall +++
