In August 1991, Dale Jarrett scored his first NASCAR Cup Series victory in dramatic fashion, edging Davey Allison by just inches at the finish line. The win not only launched a Hall of Fame career but also ended a four-year victory drought for Wood Brothers Racing.

Today, we honor Hall of Famer Mike Stefanik. He was a nine‑time NASCAR champion, earning seven Whelen Modified Tour titles and two Busch North Series championships, a level of sustained excellence matched by few. With 74 Modified Tour victories and a reputation for precision, toughness, and consistency, he set a standard that defined an era and secured his place among the sport’s all‑time greats.
Today, we honor Hall of Famer Joe Weatherly, a two‑time premier series champion and one of NASCAR’s most dynamic early stars. He was a winner of 25 premier series races and captured back‑to‑back championships in 1962 and 1963. Known as the “Clown Prince of Stock Car Racing” for his personality and competitive spirit, he helped define the sport’s early era and remains one of NASCAR’s most memorable champions.

As we look ahead to the next era, we’re reimagining our space to better serve our guests and the greater Charlotte community by elevating the guest experience, expanding STEAM education opportunities, and enhancing event spaces.
During renovations, guests will use a temporary entrance located off S. Caldwell Street. Directional signage will be placed prominently around nearby garages and sidewalks to guide guests to the entrance. Guests can also scan posted QR codes for additional directions and visitor information.
