We all want to live in the place we call home with the people and things that we love. We must do all we can to resist any threat to force people out of their homes. Councils have attempted to institute policies like this before & been seen off. Let’s see this one off too.

- create a genuinely integrated workforce team across primary, community, social & acute care.
- create new roles that focus on life episodes not illness eg “end of life care”
- pay social care staff the same as health care assistants

Great article! Be great to see ICSs develop a system shift to prevention strategy. We know it works! I think the analysis is spot on - some ICSs acting as a commissioning/monitoring function rather than strategically shifting towards tackling inequality, prevention & social care.
Integrating health & care will fail if both services aren’t fit for purpose, aren’t based on how people live their lives & are transactional; treating people as passive units of need. Let’s be bold in ICSs & explore a radical redesign with people, families, communities at the ♥️
