I’m in my era of taking people as they are, not who I hope they’ll become. No more excusing behavior or holding onto potential. If you don’t work for me, I’ll let you go
I think it’s safe to say that when you’re dating someone who doesn’t show up for you in the ways you need, there are a few possibilities: One, you haven’t clearly communicated your needs. Two, they simply don’t like you enough to meet them. Three, they care, but don’t have the capacity. Either way the result is the same. But how you decide to come up with a proper solution is what matters.
i don’t think people realize how exhausting it is to constantly downplay what you feel just so you don’t come across as difficult. you start shrinking before anyone even asks.
normalize saying “i care about you and i like you a lot, but the inconsistency in this situationship isn’t something i can keep accepting. i’m choosing to move on” periodt
