"One of the reasons my party lost in the recent elections is that we didn’t recognize how the world was changing, and when we did, we did not adapt quickly enough. Specifically, there was complacency about the nature of the enemy we were fighting because a lot of people did not recognize it for what it was.
There’s a great movie from the 1990s—The Usual Suspects. In it, there is a fantastic quote: “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.”
That is the trick that those on the authoritarian left have pulled off. They have smuggled ideas and policies that look like liberalism but are anything but. They speak the language of the civil rights movement, but they aim to resegregate us. They preach about social justice, but they do not believe in the most basic ideas of fairness and equality. They demand our tolerance even as they seek to undermine the very culture and institutions that create that tolerance in the first place.
Another way of putting it is that liberalism has been hacked."
I get it guys. Women suck. The system is rigged against you. You’re right to be angry.
But here is where I come from:
I was sexually molested twice, by 2 different men (strangers) before I hit age 10.
I spent my entire childhood dodging my dad’s fists.
My first husband, when he wasn’t beating me, was sleeping with my friends. I was lucky to survive that mistake.
Despite all that, I refused to turn into a bitter man-hater. I appreciate men who are not abusive, and call out bad behavior wherever I see it.
If I can overcome all this, and not succumb to black pill, so can you. I have no patience for weak men who use the unfairness of the system as an excuse to check out from being men.
If your excuse is “I would be a better men, except…” guess what, you’re not a better man. You never were.
Watching Gen Z men veer right hits different for Millennials. We lived through Columbine, 9/11, the Iraq War, 2008 crash, 2016 election, covid, abortion bans, & now this. We watched institutions repeatedly fail us while older generations selfishly protected the status quo. 🧵1/
@JRubinBlogger I think people need to reread the tweet—at no point does Jen say that individuals shouldn’t call her Kamala. She’s talking about NEWS REPORTS—because official statements referring to the VP by only her first name create a disrespectful discourse.
@RpsAgainstTrump Please leave Governor Shapiro out of this. The Commonwealth needs him more than the country does—especially for a largely ceremonial role.
Biden: I'm running. Only god almighty can change my mind. Challenge me at convention.
Pelosi: Biden should make his decision soon. Oh he already made it? He should make the decision again
🙂↕️
I have a mental illness that makes me think that people will change their minds if I present the correct arguments with the appropriate facts and data.
I'm a center-left heterodox Dem.
For me, Trump is completely unacceptable.
RFJ Jr is slightly less unacceptable.
If the Dems keep Biden, that's bad but nowhere near as bad as the other two.
If Repubs had chosen Nikki Haley they'd at least have made me feel guilty voting Biden.
