Staking emissions are one recurring source of fresh sell-side inventory

Not every emitted token is sold, but the faucet feeding potential yield sellers keeps shrinking

We recently got a glimpse of what improving demand can look like against that smaller stream

BYTES climbed +77.5% over 30 days, including +30.9% over the past 7 days

One 30-day move doesn’t establish a lasting trend, especially in a thinner market

But demand no longer has to absorb anything close to Genesis-era issuance

If even modest organic demand returns, it will meet a very different supply equation

That doesn’t guarantee a move

It does make this milestone worth documenting

👀 I built the @NeoTokyoCode $BYTES dashboard I always wanted & the data made a stronger case than I expected

I set out to build one place where I could understand BYTES emissions, supply, staking, holders & market cap without piecing the story together from old dashboards and scattered records

With our @GridPhantoms AI Agent Sakura helping me interrogate contracts, reconstruct history & reconcile data across Ethereum & Avalanche, the project became something more

The deeper we dug, the more I understood why BYTES is still here & why Grid Phantoms chose to build around it

One stat that stopped me:

▷ BYTES 2.0 began with configured emissions of 11,000 BYTES/day

▷ Today, the contracts are configured for approximately 744 BYTES/day

▷ That’s a 93.2% reduction in new daily reward inventory

Today’s stream is roughly one-fifteenth of the Genesis rate

Thus the market has dramatically less new reward inventory to potentially absorb each day

Hats off to the original Neo Tokyo tokenomics team

The decay structure gave the economy time

3 years into BYTES 2.0 and it has reached another market cycle carrying a much lighter emissions burden

Imagine when the market flips bullish, buy pressure returns & emissions sell pressure has all but vanished

That’s not a market promise, but enough to make you think

The other discoveries were just as impressive:

▷ 8,808 unique positive-balance wallets across Ethereum & Avalanche

▷ 3,318 identified staking participants

▷ 1.85M BYTES in the staking contract, equal to 35.5% of supply

▷ 68.7% of the S1 Citizen collection staked

▷ 44.8% of the S2 collection staked

▷ 100% allocated to the community, with no team allocation or VC unlocks

▷ An onchain-verified market cap well above $1 million

The market-cap context surprised me

CoinMarketCap’s broader market snapshot showed the $1 million line around rank 1,863 in a universe of millions of tracked cryptocurrencies

Impressive that BYTES, when current market cap is onchain-verified, ends up among the top 2,000 tokens

In fact if CoinMarketCap’s BYTES market cap was onchain-tracked, the token would be currently ranked around #1738

Especially notable for an NFT community utility token with roots in 2021
