when you live off an income portfolio at full throttle you sometimes feel like you weren’t performing as well as a growth investor. on the capital that’s true. but i was actually living from it. half that yield was literally consumed paying my bills, mortgage, debts, everything
@WassieBara nah it's gonna be a party of needing mom's spaghetti just to make ends meet I fear. pretty pathetic situation. I just don't know how imma get out of this
@WassieBara on a downward spiral dawg. went all in on those stupid covered calls ETFs like it was genius guess what it wasn't. it's a shrinking pile of me getting back my own money. i literally screwed my portfolio thinking i was a genius. i ain't 💀
the money supply bros can be right or wrong. in 2024-2025 the rates were still around 4-5% and it didn't stop the bull run from happening at all. today those rate are even lower. we're gonna have a bull run, four year cycle or not, money supply or not.
prolly just sell at the opening Monday and I'll park back the amount into cash. might lose a few feathers if opening is bad but at least now I understand my mistake 😬
the move was not so brilliant after thinking about it further. it mstr do a -50% by eoy I'll take it leveraged in the balls (-62.5%) and I'll need a 166.67% to climb back to break even 💀 so if you do go with $MSTE size accordingly to be able to have dry powder all along iwo
i just scooped 7500 shares of $MSTE for 18k cad 🤣 anyway possible even if the payouts remained as low as they are now (absolutely unlikely) ➡️ 7500 shares × 0.075 × 36 months (end of the bull) the position will have paid for its own value anyway. am i crazy? 🧐
i could have use y'all apps to compare the performance but it doesn't really explain why it performed that way compared to the underlying. i preferred this more detailed analysis somehow
how does $MSTE and $MSTR compare at 3 different moments since the inception of the ETF? tested copilot here and didn't check back the results he gave me i'm just posting em as they were generated;

@WassieBara so as soon as the bull will clearly resume that shit will just keep on printing. if it ever reaches 66 cents per share like last bull it's gonna generate over 5k a month 😂
@WassieBara bro I've thought about it for hours and wuz like i need 600$ per month what do I do. well 18k ÷ 2.36 = 7627 shares and the payouts are 0.075 per share per month = 572 per month. last february (was holding) it was still 20¢ per share ( beginning of the bear) even last month ➡️10¢
payouts since inception btw; shit is gonna print, end of the story. could miss selling the top but it won't even be a problem it'll have paid for itself anyway
entry point wasn't maybe optimal but i don't really care it was more about stopping the bleeding of my cash buffer. from now on it'll be covered almost 100% and we're not even in the bull at all. so each month anyways I'll earn more and more and more and more 👀

few months from now the payouts will go back to 10¢ then 20¢ then 30¢ then 40¢ & so on and the surplus generated by the position will build back the buffer and within 36 months (end of the bull) it will have printed way more than its value & I'm not even talking about the upside
did it before the ex dividend date so imma have almost 600$ landing in at the beginning of the month, closing the gap between my 1800$ of income generated almost to 2400$ a month already and the bull hasn't even started yet 🤷
