Life was meant to be lived in View of God's mercy.

live in a way that you can't unsee how much God has done for you.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

You don't have to change to be loved by God, but
When you experience the Love of Jesus, you can't help but want to be changed and shaped into being more like him.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

There is no separation from the Love of Christ.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

Be Joyful in Hope.

"I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He rescued me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4

Love like Jesus.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Romans 12:2

"Shame loves to whisper that even if God forgave your past, He is still disappointed with your present. But in Christ, condemnation is not just reduced; it is completely abolished. The cross did not buy us a second chance to earn God's approval; it secured our absolute, unshakeable freedom from ever being condemned."

7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
- Romans 8:7-8

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

Invite God into your ordinary.
Go on a hike, walk, ride home from work, or have coffee. Ask him to slow you down while you grocery shop, and show you someone to encourage.

You were made for Friendship with God.

Cynicism is not a fruit of the Spirit. Yet we’ve become masters at dressing it up as discernment. Wisdom does not dwell in constant negativity. Wisdom, as described in Proverbs, cannot help but be joyful.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

A god who hates everyone you hate, agrees with every opinion you hold, and justifies all your anger may not be Yahweh. He may simply be you.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

Beware of voices that keep you angry at the same group of people. Anger always wants more. And if God is always mad at exactly the same people you are, be careful you haven’t fashioned a god in your own image and called him Yahweh.

"We want to believe ordinary people can’t do monstrous things—that only the truly evil ones do things like that. But when we see the monsters, we see that they’re like us. They’re ordinary. If they are capable, we are capable. Historically, we want to believe that ordinary people are all right, but the Bible tells us that at the heart of the ordinary is a monster."

Keller, Timothy. What Is Wrong with the World?: The Surprising, Hopeful Answer to the Question We Cannot Avoid (pp. 10-11)

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

To discuss sin is to do more than talk about behavior modification; it is to get at the core of what has broken within us, and how we can be made right. Those people are us people. Our problem looks a lot more ordinary than we may realize.

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

What’s wrong with us? Sin.
20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 21 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God’s law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?
Romans 7:20-24

[NewSpring Church @newspring]

15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. Romans 7:15-24 (NLT)

16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
Romans 1:16-17 (NLT)
