Apparently filmed in the Mara in Kenya (credit unknown): crazy to see this kind of tourist behaviour. The stress on the animals, the offroading damage, the carbon impact from so many people - photo tourism needs much more scrutiny, often falsely assumed to be 'eco' & sustainable
Brambles - can anyone tell me what their natural predator was/is? We have rather a lot now & I never see anything attacking it. Would pigs/boar dig it up? Thinking about natural control methods... 🤔
Six months ago we released these two beavers into their new home. Here they are now in one of the many dams and ponds they have created. Dried out headwaters are becoming thriving wetlands again.
Our Head of Innovation, @prjepson shared his thoughts on how the media could help reverse biodiversity declines by promoting shared values... #Rewilding and #regenerativeagriculture are complementary approaches to the same problem.
The power of seedbanks & dispersal. See the @riverglaven just following flood embankment removal (2009) & then just over 1 yr later. *No seeding*. The river bank had been buried beneath a hump of dredgings for 50+ yrs. There is now a species-rich, native community at the site
Ecological restoration? Or nature theme park? Are we becoming too scared to give nature a chance to recover itself? Why not leave this to become a wet place with wild arriving plants, inverts & birds? I see future dominance by the generic. Sorry but this so upsets. #Rewilding?
Ask yourself this question; if #LYNX we're still here in UK, would we be trying to eradicate them?
No, I don't think we would. There would be very few people arguing for that.

Exciting to see Wilder Blean and their forthcoming bisons, Northwoods Rewilding Network, @langholmonline and @Broughton_Hall featured by The Independent as places to watch this year – all members of the Rewilding Network working to catalyse rewilding.

Good rivers are messy. They are fringed by trees, harbour fallen trees & are full of different plants. So many habitats in this bit of semi-wild river. The #river did this all on its own because it was NOT obsessively tidied up
These ponies are kickstarting rewilding for Wild Exmoor, who've just joined our Network. @NorthDevonNT is transforming part of the national park into a dynamic place for wildlife & people. Buffalo will eventually help too... 🐃

I've set out here why we should let Wistman's Wood & other temperate rainforests spread further: https://t.co/joRl4woWdg
Outrageous that new drilling for oil and gas is going on anywhere, let alone in the protected Okavango River Basin - one of the wonders of our world. Thank you @rewild for fighting - do sign letter on their site. #fightclimatechange
