Almost sued by Donald Trump. Offered a bribe by a Lord of Parliament. Called a “traitor to this country” by Roger Stone.

@ColtonMLong@ColtonMLong momentarily breaking my self-exile from Twitter to extend a sincere apology for just how wrong I was here, given recent developments. Cheers!
@ColtonMLong Should you assume Occam’s razor during the fog of war? I dislike Marco Rubio, so hopefully I have another thing to criticize him for in a few weeks / months. I’m just not confident enough to make these types of declarations about anyone who’s clearly anti-Putin at the moment
We are told if we put our head down and work hard that we will be rewarded, either by wealth in this life or salvation in the next.
But this narrative is being questioned, as it has been in the past, and tomorrow is a new day.
Finally, in this technological era of a saturation of information and proliferation of misinformation, it is important you trust yourself and your instincts. The system we were born into was constructed to make us doubt our instincts.
And, as always, the media gets played like a fiddle.
Suddenly, Trump, who is promising mass deportations, is framed as if he’s moderating his views — while siding with a lunatic cabal of billionaires.
Notice how the immigration debate is entirely between the far right and right-wing tech billionaires?
Dems are nowhere to be found, except observing & making fun of these feuds.
They don’t understand the WWE-style approach of manufactured disputes. Overton window shifts again.
Yes, this is what they believe.
You think it’s a joke.
They don’t.
Where does that leave us once they take complete control of the American government, and all we have is the neoliberal entertainment complex profiting off the fears and anxieties of The Resistance?
What happens when everything in a country becomes hyper-commodified, including journalism?
What happens when someone steers the collective consciousness of that country toward ideological darkness?
How, then, would industry respond? Would it meet this new demand for darkness?
After 2016-2020, COVID, 2020 election, 1/6, 10/7, 2024 election, etc. I’m worried most Americans are pre-exhausted, understandably so, by Trump’s/the govt’s antics, and whether that pre-exhaustion might have an impact on how things play out. Maybe it already has? Could be bad?
Aside from a handful of Democratic / neoliberal elites asking for preemptive pardons, there doesn’t seem to be much focused proactive planning.
Is there any movement toward an active resistance, or is the Party just waiting for 2026/2028? This feels notably different than 2016.
Musk’s continues to outmaneuver Trump to ensure his businesses steer clear of international regulations. How long before the Trump/Musk relationship disintegrates?
