Those who would wish to understand my approach to social media wankers & hecklers would do well reading the Rev. Dr. Martin King Jr. 1963 Letter from Birmingham Jail.
One thing she has in spades over her tormentors is time. @AloikinOpoloje will be here long after they are gone. She will have the last smile, of that I am sure.
Those of us who know @AloikinOpoloje know her deep passion for justice and the rule of law. She has spent so many of her productive years advocating for justice for many victims of repression. I am sure that even in prison, she will spend her time seeking to help others.
This experience, like many before it, will only strengthen her resolve. She will remain unbowed. Do not mistake her baby face and warm smile for timidity. She has the spirit of a champion and a fighter. #freePriase
@JoelWegoye Your Honor, you and your colleagues at the Institute are doing an incredible job. Please keep up the good work. ULII is an excellent tool for legal practice and public education.
Let's call him/her (A)Okello.
We’ll not engage with his/her numerous thoughtless, usually late-night social media postings, not out of respect but fear; not out of deference, but spite; not out of reverence, but impiety.
(A)Okello’s a wrecking ball that can flatten one's life. Reckless, infantile, and deeply insecure, yet with lethal force within reach, so as to entertain only apporative commentary.
(A)Okello and his/her jesters take the posture of inevitability and invisibility, but every action of theirs shows deep-seated fear, uncertainty, and fragility, not supreme confidence.
A supreme (A)Okello would be confident in his skin. Needs no seemingly coerced hearty approbation. Needs not vanquish his challengers with brute force.
Maybe, just maybe, (A)Okello is, after all, jelly-bellied and hiding it in the apparent show of force
@nokajaafa@CanaryMugume@adoniaayebare I did. I also saw other things the press did not cover. I am sure also that the development folks saw it too, hence their decision.
Turkish press was even more unforgiving, harsher in its coverage of the Ugandan demonstration at its Kampala embassy, calling it a ‘tuntrum’ and describing it as ‘about a shrinking paycheck’
‘Uganda's Türkiye tantrum is really about a shrinking paycheck’

Kampala's suspension of military cooperation is linked to the future of its lucrative troop deployment in Somalia, not demands to extradite a political commentator, sources say
