@dttpeople@justin_hart The Spirit teaches of truth to the heart and mind. That’s why it’s necessary to read the Book of Mormon so that the Spirit has something to testify of. Feelings alone is not the sole piece of evidence, but the words. It was His words that caused their hearts to burn within them.
@TheNewMexicanCG@TaylorRMarshall I responded to your comments but then you would bring up another random talking point and dodge my response. Can you honestly read ONLY Jacob 5 from the Book of Mormon and tell me you could dictate that? Just one chapter. I assume you’ll dodge this too. Just Jacob 5 is all I ask.
@TheNewMexicanCG@astorcaeli@TaylorRMarshall Nice gishgallop. I’ve got a normal life to live, so I’ll need to take a break from responding to each random thing you bring up so that you can feel justified in not taking the challenge seriously. Being a critic is easy. Have a good day 👍
@LargeDicknbaus@TaylorRMarshall You obviously haven’t read the book. You’ve listened to your pastor though who doesn’t want to lose your business. Calling that book demonic is ridiculous and just shows someone hasn’t done their own homework.
@TheNewMexicanCG@TaylorRMarshall I don’t see how that’s applicable since the old world geography of the Book of Mormon is pretty well mapped out. You can repeat old talking points all you want. Let’s make it easy and start with the dictation and getting 11 witnesses to testify until their death. Sound good?
@TheNewMexicanCG@TaylorRMarshall Doctrine and covenants addresses this. People would have altered the words that were previously written, but sure I’ll allow one redo. He still won’t do it because he realizes it’s a lot harder to do than he thought. I’ll give you the chance to do it as well if you want to.
@TaylorRMarshall You can trick people into saying they have handled golden plates and witnessed an angel? Fine, I challenge you to do that. Get someone to do that until the day they die. Also, you aren’t allowed to write out these “fictional” novels on your own, you need to dictate it to someone.
@TaylorRMarshall Could you have them affirm their witness even after your death and after leaving the church you established? One even ended up returning. If he was an obvious conman I feel like this should be an easy task for you since you’re a doctor.
@TaylorRMarshall Dr Marshall, could you dictate something like the Book of Mormon over an 85 day period? Could you do this and provide 11 witnesses to gold plates 3 of which witnessed an angel bare witness of the truthfulness of the record?
@TARSRel0aded Probably part of the reason it took so long is because “heretics” were killed. It took God establishing the United States as a land of freedom in order for the restoration to fully take place. Even then we had to endure persecutions. Hence, the reason we ended up in Utah.
@HarrisonHSmith “Clearly a giant scam”. It is if you go based off the half truths people make about the church. There is so much depth to it that there is no way a conman could have put it together… take the time to study it out. There’s a reason we seem to have something figured out.
@Erchomenos@michaeljknowles This is like saying Hitler owned a dog therefore everyone who owns a dog is like Hitler. The content and the method of how the Book of Mormon was revealed is very different to the Quran. Was Joseph Smith supposed to claim to be a prophet without some heavenly vision?
@JimmyParker87@KishkumenActual No we just want you to stop poisoning the well so that people can actually read the Book of Mormon and see that it will bring them closer to God by abiding by its precepts. Pastors would lose their salaries though so they’re not interested in truly understanding what we believe.
@sommbc@howertonjosh@BasedMikeLee What? You threw in the word essence. Everything else yes. Three persons (essences) one God. One in purpose, will, and relationship. Crazy how we aren’t considered “Christian” because of that one distinction which is shown in scripture.
@sommbc@howertonjosh@BasedMikeLee Perfect, thank you. I have the exact same conclusion. Is He not then describing what His oneness with the Father means? Not one essence but oneness in purpose, will, or relationship?
@sommbc@howertonjosh@BasedMikeLee Yes. That is the understanding I have at least on the part of Jesus as God and taking on flesh. The Book of Mormon agrees. We obviously have a difference in belief regarding the Father since we believe the Father has a body. What do you interpret “one” to mean in John 17:21?
