New Heterodorx podcast! Episode 201: Episode 201: Joscha Bach Looks on the Bright Side @Plinz
The Dorx are back with esteemed German cognitive scientist, AI researcher, and philosopher Joscha Bach, who…what does he do exactly? He tries to tell us but soon is discussing the unlikelihood AI will destroy humanity (humanity is likelier to destroy itself), “human values”, the paucity of adults, superstitious thinking, lack of consciousness, unreality, mutants, fatherhood, art, craft, God, gods, ethics, Aristotle, innocence, gender, the obvious, sacrifice, and using AI as your life’s CEO. Is the self a fiction? How much art do we really need? Are all Miyazake movies really about Heidi? And so much more!
We let Riverside’s own AI edit this episode, and it’s full of artifacts as a result. Consider it meta-commentary on this fascinating human conversation.
This is too good! 🤣 I no longer have a word to say to Dugin — nor even to his new buddy Nick Land — but I would still enjoy speaking with Žižek. He's essentially a character from a Makavejev movie.
I'm tired of hearing that Americans are racist. That America is systemically racist. I'm tired of hearing how whites are privileged and that faculties and administrations need to be segregated for "courageous conversations."
Who has been doing the accusing? Institutions like the Smithsonian's African American museum (@NMAAHC).
This is the museum that told us hard work, self-reliance and the nuclear family are "aspects and assumptions of whiteness." The head of its PreK-12 program, in a museum whose materials reach classrooms nationwide, co-wrote that "white audiences" have an "empathy gap" that has to be fixed "in our classrooms."
If I said that about any other group, I'd be called a racist. And deservedly so.
In this same museum, Angela Davis is glorified as a "revolutionary" and a Communist. Thomas Sowell, unless he's been hiding out in the museum bathroom, is not present.
My father marched in Cicero in 1966 and was screamed at by racists. He went on to win the National Book Critics Circle Award for his writing and was awarded the National Humanities Medal. Yet when we asked this museum to screen our new documentary, "White Guilt," we were ghosted as if we were riffraff.
So why is it that the accuser always gets a free pass for leveling charges of racism against us?
The WNBA defines Enes as a man, but still fails to define 'woman'. They just know that Enes isn't one. But how do they know that since he said he was one?
Is it because he's 6'10"? Is it because he has a beard? Is it because he can dunk? Is it because they're transphobic?
In 1983, a BBC interviewer asked Richard Feynman why two magnets push each other apart — and he refused to answer it.
What he did instead is the best seven minutes on thinking ever filmed.
