Can you improve a burnt cake by describing it better?! We need your help to convince scientists planning animal studies to start on day 1: better validity & welfare. Pls forward. Shameless plug for PREPARE, which covers *all* aspects of experimental design https://t.co/WiPxIV6Dv9
Important to know from day 1 (a) what you will have to report (ARRIVE) and (b) all that you should consider when planning (PREPARE), because there are many issues which never get reported but which affect data validity, reproducibility, animal welfare and health & safety.
A great week for the zebrafish community! It began with a 3-day hands-on husbandry course, and ended with a 2-day meeting where representatives from nearly all the Nordic facilities established a Nordic Zebrafish Network, and a Steering Group to manage it. 1/n

Next Wednesday, Oct 18th is the DEADLINE to register for this course. Come to Porto in December to learn how to:
- Better design your experiments
- Improve reproducibility
- Minimize number of animals used while increasing study reliability #3Rs
UZH is developing alternative methods to animal experiments in line with the 3Rs principle. To highlight outstanding achievements of its members, the university has introduced the UZH 3R Award, which has now gone to Giuseppe Esposito & Melanie Generali.

@VVoikar @COST_TEATIME@caimprove @FernandoUarquin Great work, Vootele! If folks mention the International #cultureofcare Network, it would be great if you could remind everyone that the Network has a really simple shortcut to its website: https://t.co/vwKrAZbLdq
Ideas on how Open Science can support the #3Rs and improve research protocols which contain plans that may involve the use of animals. A great collaboration with colleagues at Utrecht University and beyond: https://t.co/UZsOlsTnc0
Today at #WC12Canada I presented an overview of the work of @norecopa entitled "a one-stop-shop for global #3R resources", which is indeed our aim. My slides are available at https://t.co/xK0u7jw645. See if you agree with me😉
