To celebrate the launch of our new Northern Explorer ticket, we're inviting 10 people to take part in The Great Race Across the North on Saturday, 25 July. 📍

Starting in Manchester, competitors will race across the Northern network to see who can visit the most stations in one day. At every stop, you’ll need to jump off, grab a photo at the station entrance and catch the next train.

@cyclist13 Hi Paul, you cannot use a railcard to purchase the Northern Explorer sadly as the travel is already discounted. Northern Explorer tickets can be purchased at any ticket office, at ticket vending machines and via the Northern website.

@aharleymoran Hi Aiden, I'm sorry for this issue. I would advise getting a promise to pay notice from the ticket machine and purchasing a ticket from the conductor on board who will be able to take cash.
